The Genocide Archive of Rwanda team identifies individuals willing to share testimonies related to the 1994 genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda. The team collects evidential materials, physically and digitally preserves them, and provides access to the collection for research and education globally.  

These photographs feature killing tools and victims' belongings such as ID cards, clothes and more. These objects are found in the Genocide Archive of Rwanda's physical archive at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, and on display in other memorials all over the country.

On April 7th, Secretary of State Warren Christopher established a 24-hour working group concerning the unfolding situations in Kigali and Bujumbura (led by Prudence Bushnell). The task force concluded its work on April 15th, following the evacuation of American citizens and the closure of the U.S. Embassy.
